Answer: no. Clever hack with security implications. "In effect, this is taking the old phishing trick of homoglyph attacks—an attack consisting of using confusing look-a-like URLs like paypa1.com with the numeral one replacing the letter ell—and adding a dash of cross-site scripting but where you become the agent of infection: the supposed “censorship” may be shocking enough to cause you to forward the link."

"Jane was studying product design at RCA London when she had an idea: "I don't want to buy new stuff all the time. I want to hack the stuff I already have so it works better for me." So she phoned some clever materials scientists called Ian and Steve and together they invented an interesting new material for hacking things better."

The Magic Mouse does not contour to the users hand. So, being a product designer and manufacturer, I decided to see what I could do to fix it.
- HTML5 enabling script remysharp.com
Since HTML5 is getting more attention by way of marking up our new pages, and the only way to get IE to acknowledge the new elements, such as <article>, is to use the HTML5 shiv, I've quickly put together a mini script that enables all the new elements.

Last Sunday, while checking into the Hill Street Cafe in Burbank using the foursquare iPhone app, I idly wondered, “Can I become the mayor of the North Pole?” So I tried checking into a nearby 7-Eleven. It worked. I tried the Griffith Observatory about 5 miles away. It worked. I tried Disneyland, which is about an hour away. It didn’t work, but I now had an afternoon hacking project.

Using a custom RjDj patch to control an Arduino. Made possible via the "netsend" and "netreceive" objects in PD, which are also usable in RjDj. The interface with the Arduino is made through the Firmata firmware in combination with the PDuino library.

"Instead of printing on bits of paper this 3D printer makes real, robust, mechanical parts. To give you an idea of how robust, think Lego bricks and you're in the right area. You could make lots of useful stuff, but interestingly you could also make most of the parts to make another 3D printer. That would be a machine that could copy itself." Want.

Ooooh. "Thingiverse is a place for you to share your digital designs with the world. We believe that just as computing shifted away from the mainframe into the personal computer that you use today, digital fabrication will share the same path."

- CSS Browser Selector rafael.adm.br
Wrong but potentially useful as last resort. "CSS Browser Selector is a very small javascript with just one line which empower CSS selectors. It gives you the ability to write specific CSS code for each operating system and each browser."
- Digital Web Magazine - CSS Not([hacks]) digital-web.com
"The possibilities of using CSS3 selectors as an alternative to hacks when targeting specific browsers." Novel.
"Internet Explorer [...] has a bug where clicking on an image inside a label tag does nothing [...] What I've done is put together a quick bit of unobtrusive JavaScript to "fix" the problem." Nasty, but if you have images as labels...

"[A] little bit of Perl scripting lets you take the HTML from one page, add the styles of another, and end up with a hideously mutated beast that can sometimes be amusing, sometimes be revealing, but most of the time looks like a fourth generation hillbil
All we need to do is designate a CSS style with multiple background-images. As your browser reads the style, it will load each image you designate in succession, thus pre-loading your images.

Fueled by Friday’s feedback on CSS Server-side Variables I’ve taken another whack at this idea.
CSS-SSV hijacks the syntax of at-rules to isolate variable definitions. Variable names and their values are defined like any other CSS property. The goal was to make this as easy-to-use and native-looking as possible
