- International box-sizing Awareness Day | CSS-Tricks css-tricks.com
You might think of it this way: with box-sizing: border-box the padding and border press their way inside the box rather than expand the box. The result is a box the exact width you set it to be and can count on.

- git-up - fetch and rebase all locally-tracked remote branches aanandprasad.com
git pull has two problems:
* It merges upstream changes by default, when it's really more polite to rebase over them, unless your collaborators enjoy a commit graph that looks like bedhead. * It only updates the branch you're currently on, which means git push will shout at you for being behind on branches you don't particularly care about right now.

The Node environment seems to have shifted from "use this for your one-off, high performance, I/O dominated real time service" to "hey, you know Javascript, build all your webapps in node, build your command line tools in node, build everything in node, since it's the lingua franca of the web." This latter trend sucks, and results in things that to me seem absolutely bonkers, like the Vows test framework.
